The Oak Grove Foundation of DeKalb County Georgia In.c is a Georgia 501 (c)(3) organization comprised of parents, teachers and administrators committed to enriching and elevating the educational experience at Oak Grove Elementary School. It is our mission to unleash the full potential of every child by implementing our community-created Strategic Plan.
During the year-long planning process, our community identified several long term goals that The Foundation hopes to fund with donations and grants. Because of the nature of our organization, The Foundation can also hire additional staff to support our school's goals. Some of the exciting goals identified in the Strategic Plan include:
- Incorporating foreign language into the learning experience
- Having a full-time technology teacher on staff
- Providing laptops or ipads for every grade level
- Providing resource teachers to support class diversity teaching plans in reading and math
- Supporting student-created portfolios
- Implementing authentic and varied student assessments
- Providing ongoing professional learning program for teachers
- Increasing grant receipts from local businesses.
Our public school system must serve many different purposes; The Foundation serves only ONE PURPOSE: Building a school that foster critical thinkers who are academically prepared for the next step
