What is the Oak Grove Foundation?
The Oak Grove Foundation supports all students! Through this non-profit 501(c)(3) for Oak Grove Elementary in DeKalb County, Georgia, each OGE student is able to receive an innovative and exceptional education in our public school setting. Please see our Annual Report for a complete list of our numerous investments in Oak Grove Elementary. Questions? Contact email@example.com.
Why does Oak Grove Elementary need a foundation?
The Oak Grove community values a first rate public education. Enriching and elevating the educational experience at Oak Grove Elementary School has costs that are not covered by DeKalb County.
Didn't I already give this school year? What is the difference between the Oak Grove Foundation and the PTA?
Oak Grove Foundation and the PTA work closely together to fund different items for our school. The PTA hosts the Give to Grover fundraising campaign during fall registration. The OGE Foundation hosts the Show Your Love Annual Fundraising Campaign for Education in February. Please view the Oak Grove Fundraising Plan to understand how we work to make Oak Grove a first rate school.
In 2016-2017, the Foundation supported many activities and resources, including:
STEM Coordinator ▪ Literacy Specialist ▪ Social Studies/Literacy Immersion ▪ Colonial Days ▪ Frog Dissection ▪ Pi Day ▪ Orton-Gillingham Training ▪ 10/10 Day ▪ Rubik’s Cubes ▪ STEM Murals ▪ STEM Outdoor Garden and Teacher Resource Center ▪ Teacher Training ▪ Lego We-Do Kits & Lego Night ▪ National Geographic Traveling State Map ▪
How will the Foundation use my donation in 2017-2018?
The Foundation will fund activities related to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) curriculum, the Literacy Coach, Big Idea Grants for Teachers, our Higher Opportunities for Teachers fund (HOT) and more.
What is STEM?
Schools with a strong emphasis on STEM education integrate Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics into the entire curriculum. Why? Occupations in STEM-related careers are some of the fastest growing and best paid of the 21st century, and they often have the greatest potential for job growth. At Oak Grove Elementary we are implementing school wide STEM content that supports all students across all grade levels.
